– Scripture:
This Present Step
Stalwart walks in step with God; his path is blazed by God, and he’s happy. If he stumbles, he’s not down for long; God has a grip on his hand.
Psalms 37:23-24 MSG
– Reflection:
Most of us are very focused on our life’s destination, our dreams coming to pass, and our problems turning around. But it’s also important that you learn to enjoy where you are today while you’re on the way to where you’re going. Our lives are not about the destination; they are about the journey with all the bumps in the road along the way, the disappointments we face, and the things we don’t understand. Way too often, we rush through the day, trying to force our way through the challenges and the setbacks to the destination when we should slow down and enjoy the journey. We are going to be frustrated living like that.
Where do we go from here?
Often the journey He leads us on is not comfortable, but all the difficulties, delays, and backstabbings are a part of His plan to get us to our destiny. He will work all these things for your good. Stay in the present. Take it one day at a time. God didn’t give us grace for tomorrow. He gave us enough grace for this present step.
Our Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that You have a destination for our lives as well as a journey to enjoy while we’re getting there. Thank You that You purposefully order our steps in the best way for us. I believe that You have given us the grace for this present step and that it’s working for our good. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
