                Something from Nothing

Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands. Wild animals will say ‘Thank you!’ the coyotes and the buzzards. Because I provided water in the desert, rivers through the sun-baked earth, Drinking water for the people I chose, the people I made especially for myself, a people custom-made to praise me.

                        Isaiah 43:19–21 MSG

 – Reflection:

The words above speak of a river flowing in the desert that came from nowhere to the people GOD chose personally. I have had a few times like this when I had no shot at having what I needed significantly earlier in my life, and somehow, a way was made for me. God can do that for you, too; all you need to do is get in a quiet place and ask him to come into your heart. It doesn’t have to be a public showing of your level of ask. He is already in you. You just need to ask him to ignite himself in you. When you do, you will sometimes see things come from nowhere. I say nowhere because I didn’t deserve what was received in the terms of the world, but in his Kingdom, I am worth way more than anyone on this earth can say I am to GOD. GOD chooses our value, not the world; he knows what our value is to him.

Where do we go from here?

I want to see all of you that read these words experience something happening from nothing. To take up the yoke of Christ is not easy and requires a lot of love and forgiveness for those who may have hurt you in the past and some who may have hurt you five minutes ago. Jesus didn’t say his way was easy, but he needs us to help the world heal. It is up to us to keep following the path he has created for us.

Our Prayer for Today

Father, thank you for giving us examples and maps to follow to find your grace in our lives. We can’t ever measure up to the blessings you give us every day, but we definitely appreciate all that you do for us. Amen.
