Servants, do what you’re told by your earthly masters. And don’t just do the minimum that will get you by. Do your best. Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident you’ll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance. Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you’re serving is Christ. The sullen servant who does shoddy work will be held responsible. Being a follower of Jesus doesn’t cover up bad work.

 – Reflection:

There are times when working for ourselves or someone else when you want just to be done. You may not have given your best at a particular moment. That hurts more than just the person you work for. It also hurts you, and as a follower of Jesus Christ, it hurts him too. Less than your best is not deserving of the blessing of Christ. We must always do what we can to ensure we give our absolute best in everything we do. If you are tired, take more time to complete the tasks, but don’t let the quality of who you are and who’s in suffer.
