– Scripture:
But a wicked person who turns his back on that life of sin and keeps all my statutes, living a just and righteous life, he’ll live, really live. He won’t die. I won’t keep a list of all the things he did wrong. He will live. Do you think I take any pleasure in the death of wicked men and women? Isn’t it my pleasure that they turn around, no longer living wrong but living right—really living?

– Reflection:
Confession Isn’t Sufficient Enough
Confession is important, but it’s not enough. Real change only happens when confession is accompanied by genuine repentance. Confession is about acknowledging our sins—to God, our partners, or trusted friends. Repentance, on the other hand, is about action. It’s about turning away from those sins and leaving our old selves behind. It’s about declaring that we don’t want to be those people anymore. Repentance means turning towards God and being open to becoming new, better individuals. Confession is a crucial first step, but repentance is the ultimate goal. While confession requires courage, repentance simply requires a willing heart.
Where do we go from here?
Please remember the following text:
“Repent of the things you need/needed to confess, brother. Turn your back on those sins and be willing to listen to God. He will always let you start anew. Repent and turn back, so that your sins may be blotted out.”
Our Prayer for Today
“Father, it is a pleasure to do the work that you require of us. If, while helping someone, they try to involve us in worldly things, it is okay to distance ourselves and let them face the consequences. At that point, only you can save them, not us. We have done our part to provide hope for redemption. The rest is up to them to accept you. Knowing this keeps us on the right path, guiding our steps along the path you have set for us. Thank you for the grace of each day, Jesus. Amen.”
