– Scripture:

My purpose in writing is simply this: that you who believe in God’s Son will know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you have eternal life, the reality and not the illusion. And how bold and free we then become in his presence, freely asking according to his will, sure that he’s listening. And if we’re confident that he’s listening, we know that what we’ve asked for is as good as ours. For instance, if we see a Christian believer sinning (clearly, I’m not talking about those who make a practice of sin in a way that is “fatal,” leading to eternal death), we ask for God’s help and he gladly gives it, gives life to the sinner whose sin is not fatal. There is such a thing as a fatal sin, and I’m not urging you to pray about that. Everything we do wrong is sin, but not all sin is fatal. We know that none of the God-begotten makes a practice of sin—fatal sin. The God-begotten are also the God-protected. The Evil One can’t lay a hand on them. We know that we are held firm by God; it’s only the people of the world who continue in the grip of the Evil One. And we know that the Son of God came so we could recognize and understand the truth of God—what a gift!—and we are living in the Truth itself, in God’s Son, Jesus Christ. This Jesus is both True God and Real Life. Dear children, be on guard against all clever facsimiles.

 – Reflection:

              The Reality, Not the Illusion

I wonder why with Christ being our salvation why do so many of us not want to conform to what he means to the world properly? God is a gentlemen in this way he will not force anything on us. The destroyer however will say whatever, do whatever, and be whatever in any moment to destroy your entire life. The saying “If is it looks to good to be true; it probably is” is a great one because of the fact that our human condition wants what is easy. Meanwhile GOD is being that respectable gentlemen just waiting on you to make the correct choice, and even if you make the wrong choice he still wants to redeem you if you are willing to get over yourself and come to him. The destroyer will say anything to get what he wants, which is you on a barbecue spit. That is an illusion that has been given to the world that this flashy lifestyle of doing what you want will be rewarding. Why after you have done all the perverted things and almost sold you soul twice; do you feel that now you know you were wrong? Again God’s words stand on their own, they just are and they aren’t changing like it or lump it it there for you in black white and red.

Where do we go from here?

GOD is who he is the creator of all things, even the destroyer himself too. So how do we allow something that is rebelling against his own father to get us to fight against him as well. Get your relationship right with the father, he is waiting on you, and if you never accept him it will break his but he understands; I think. He wants all of his kids to come home, but he understands that some won’t too, I am guessing. Begin in your home doing some great for your spouse if you are a taker. If you are introverted do something small in the community that you know how to do well. Just make more time to be Christ like, that is the way into reality. Making a bunch of money to create fantasy is an illusion that ends up not lasting and causing more of us to hide for to long before coming to the son and accepting him for our savior.

Our Prayer for Today

Father, break the illusion of the idols in the world showing everyone all the idols they have been worshipping. Allow them to come home by looking in the mirror and saying to themselves that they are enough, and allow you to help us with becoming our true selves. Thank you Jesus. Amen
