 – Scripture:

They arrived at Bethsaida. Some people brought a sightless man and begged Jesus to give him a healing touch. Taking him by the hand, he led him out of the village. He put spit in the man’s eyes, laid hands on him, and asked, “Do you see anything?” He looked up. “I see men. They look like walking trees.” So Jesus laid hands on his eyes again. The man looked hard and realized that he had recovered perfect sight, saw everything in bright, twenty-twenty focus. Jesus sent him straight home, telling him, “Don’t enter the village.”

 – Reflection:

                Contaminating Yeast

Reading today’s Scripture, I wondered why the first touch didn’t allow him to see clearly; after Jesus initially put His hands on the blind man’s eyes, the man could see, but his vision was blurred. Everything was out of focus. Then Jesus touched his eyes a second time, and the man’s sight was completely clear. I heard my Pastor speak on this one time before in a service. Jesus had done his part in fixing his eyes, Jesus touched him a second time to help his faith because he didn’t believe he would see again. Why don’t you get your image in line with God’s image of you? If you change your pictures, you’ll change your life. If you have the right inner vision and see yourself as strong, talented, anointed, and favored, with a bright future, you’ll reach the fullness of your destiny.

Where do we go from here?

How is your inner vision? How do you see yourself? Perhaps your vision is blurred by what people have said. “You’re too small. You’re too inexperienced. You’re not talented enough. You don’t have what it takes.” You may struggle with low self-esteem. You see yourself as not measuring up. You have to change that picture. You’ll change that blurred vision when you agree with how God sees you. He said you are fearfully and wonderfully made. He calls you a masterpiece, one of a kind.

Our Prayer for Today

Father, thank You that You have the power to open our eyes and help us to see our lives clearly. Thank You that where our vision has been blurred and we’ve seen ourselves as less-than, Your Word shows us the right picture. We believe that we are becoming who You say we are. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
