– Scripture:
How Do You See Yourself
Overwhelmed, Abram fell flat on his face. Then God said to him, “This is my covenant with you: You’ll be the father of many nations. Your name will no longer be Abram, but Abraham, meaning that ‘I’m making you the father of many nations.’ I’ll make you a father of fathers—I’ll make nations from you, kings will issue from you. I’m establishing my covenant between me and you, a covenant that includes your descendants, a covenant that goes on and on and on, a covenant that commits me to be your God and the God of your descendants. And I’m giving you and your descendants this land where you’re now just camping, this whole country of Canaan, to own forever. And I’ll be their God.”
Genesis 17:3–8 MSG
– Reflection:
Abram, now called Abraham, didn’t see himself as the father of many nations, nor did his wife Sarai see herself as a princess. But GOD called them that before they even received what made them the names he called them. GOD was telling them who he saw them as, not who they were at those moments in time. How do you see yourself? Do you see yourself as a failure because a business can’t get off the ground or because you keep having failed relationships of all kinds? Listen to what GOD is saying to you. But to do that, you have to give your life over to him. Try him now; you have nothing to lose but those nightmarish thoughts of who you are telling yourself you are. Allow GOD to breathe life into you.
Where do we go from here?
God has a plan for life, even if you don’t. He has had that plan even before your mother and father even got together. Honor him by following his plan and giving your life to him. Christ already went to the Cross for all of us who believe he is GOD. Begin living a blessed life and ask for him to come into your life and watch the changes GOD makes in you personally.
