               Shocked & Amazed

Everyone there was spellbound, buzzing with curiosity. “What’s going on here? A new teaching that does what it says? He shuts up defiling, demonic spirits and tells them to get lost!” News of this traveled fast and was soon all over Galilee.

– Reflection:

The passage this morning speaks on the amazement of Jesus as he taught in Capernaum. He was in a meeting place and was being interrupted by a man who was possessed. He was trying to alert others around him of who Jesus was and got cast out immediately. The people in the place were amazed, I would have been as well. That had to be shocking to see a man that has always been there talking out of his mind all of a sudden notice the new man in the place and start speaking of why he is here and he is healed right there on the spot. This whole week Jesus did amazing things that showed he was a special individual. I am amazed that, seeing all of that, you allowed him to be taken off the earth. That is the human in me, though, I know his destiny was much bigger than just being here on earth with us. His ministry lasted three years, and we are still speaking about it. There are people on this earth right now who have a lot more than what Christ had then and haven’t done even a fraction of what he did. Truly amazing.

Where do we go from here?

Christ is within us, we are told that from the prayer we are to recite to allow him access to our hearts. Being the gentleman that he is, he doesn’t take your heart. He is waiting to be asked to come in. With Him inside us, we can do some of the same things. If we truly believe and are in the right spot, our FATHER will show up and show out. It is going to take us believing more and more each day in what he tells us through the tiny whispers we hear and brush off as nothing, through the people we meet having conversations and remembering a vision that was placed there just for us at that moment. Trusting his processes are key, it’s not easy but it is best for us all. This world has to change for the better.

Our Prayer for Today

Father, thanks to you, we get to see and be a part of some amazing life changes. It is you that we honor each morning when wake because we woke up this morning, a fantastic feat in itself. We are blessed to be in your presence each and every day. Amazing things happen all the time around us if we are willing to look up from our devices and toxic relationships. For today and tomorrow, as amazing happens again and again, we say Amen.
