- Scripture:

              No Fear, You’re Wrong

“What you’re doing is wrong. Is there no fear of God left in you? Don’t you care what the nations around here, our enemies, think of you?

                          Nehemiah 5:9 MSG

- Reflection:

Have you ever thought about how your life has twisted and turned, even with all of the pitfalls you caused yourself? When I think about where I was at 17 with a newborn to now raise, the issues that were caused just because of my age were huge. The support systems we gave ours today just weren't available then. I know for a fact that GOD is the one that brought me through these storms. There is no way, with all of the things that I have received and been reprimanded for, that GOD wasn't the one standing in the gap for me. I now have sons who are looking to me for the answers to the test, and I can't fail them. My work through GOD and my experiences will help them later in life. All the guys I know are the same with their sons and daughters. There has to be a healthy sense of fear in them about you, just like we all have for GOD himself. Today, there are so many shortcuts taken in these young ladies and men's lives that it is sickening. How will it help them in the long run? There are too many ways to lean on someone else when you are enough to get the task done. No one else is responsible for the work GOD has placed on your heart; that is for you to do. He will, during your travel along your path, put people on that path with you. Some may help, and some may slow, but the work is still yours.

Where do we go from here?

Honor all GOD has given you, and be sure to thank him for what he is doing in your life. If you have not asked Christ to come into your life yet, then there will be struggle and wrestling with daily life. I cannot tell you how many times being thankful for where I am at a particular moment has seemingly helped me throughout my day. It is that refreshing thought that the creator of all things is helping me become more of a man, a father, a brother, etc. Honoring the presence of GOD and his place at the head of your life is a statement that if you follow it properly, the young ones under you will fall into line easier. We have to be an example for them to follow. Having a healthy fear of GOD is what is needed today. We need more people in the world who will honor Christ and his teachings.

Our Prayer for Today

Father, Thank you for giving us the burdens of our lives; it is those things that give us the strength to follow through with each day. You are the reason for us becoming who we are, and we are thankful and prayerful. We honor you with the highest respect possible. Amen.
