Today’s Community Scripture – 5/31/2023

 – Scripture:

Think! Has a truly innocent person ever ended up on the scrap heap? Do genuinely upright people ever lose out in the end? It’s my observation that those who plow evil and sow trouble reap evil and trouble. One breath from God and they fall apart, one blast of his anger, and there’s nothing left of them. The mighty lion, king of the beasts, roars mightily, but when he’s toothless, he’s useless No teeth, no prey—and the cubs wander off to fend for themselves.

                      Job 4:7–11

 – Reflection:

             The Enemy’s Broken Teeth

Lions are very territorial. One reason they roar is to invoke fear and intimidate and keep other animals off their territory. The same principle applies to our enemy, who “prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” When you start to take new ground and go after your healing, your freedom, or your abundance, the enemy thinks that’s his territory, so you’ll hear the roar louder than ever. He’s hoping to intimidate you to where you turn back and don’t go after what God put in your heart. How many people hear the roar and give up on their dream, quit believing in their healing, or think they can never come out of debt? Have a new perspective.

Where do we go from here?

The roar is a sign that you’re moving toward what God promised. You wouldn’t hear the roar if you weren’t about to see favor and influence as you’ve never seen. You have to get in agreement with God and not the fear and doubt. Remember that He’s broken the teeth of the lion.

Our Prayer for Today

Father, thank You for this word that You have broken the enemy’s teeth on the cross and rendered the enemy powerless. Thank You that Jesus’ blood is more powerful than the devil’s lies. I’m going to stay in peace, knowing that nothing can keep me from an awesome future. You have for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Today’s Community Scripture – 5/30/2023

 – Scripture:

I know that the king of Egypt won’t let you go unless forced to, so I’ll intervene and hit Egypt where it hurts—oh, my miracles will send them reeling!—after which they’ll be glad to send you off. I’ll see to it that these people get a hearty send-off by the Egyptians—when you leave, you won’t leave empty-handed! Each woman will ask her neighbor and any guests in her house for silver and gold objects, jewelry, and extra clothes; you’ll put them on your sons and daughters. Oh, you’ll clean the Egyptians out!

                        Exodus 3:19–22

 – Reflection:

               Claim Your Victory

The scripture points out that each Israelite ask their neighbors for items such as jewels, gold, and silver. It is suggested in the bible as a nicety, but remember the ten plagues placed on Egypt at the time. The Pharoah would have been happy to give them what they wanted and commanded his people to do the same just to be rid of the Israelites. God did not want his people to see themselves as poor; he wanted them to know that they were saved by the most high GOD in the universe. In a human mind, the jewels would resemble that thought; I would think.

Where do we go from here?

See yourself as GOD sees you, standing in all your glory, knowing that you have the most high with you at all times. If you don’t believe this, you need to search your heart and yourself to find out who you serve.

Our Prayer for Today

Father, thank you for giving us the ability to know what we need to move through this world. It is a blessing that you rescued those before us to show us how we are to be. Thank you for laying the groundwork so clearly for us, you make easy the walk by us taking on your yoke, and we find rest within you. Amen.

Today’s Community Scripture – 5/29/2023

– Scripture:

This is the commandment, the rules and regulations, that God, your God, commanded me to teach you to live out in the land you’re about to cross into to possess. This is so that you’ll live in deep reverence before God lifelong, observing all his rules and regulations that I’m commanding you, you and your children and your grandchildren, living good long lives.
Listen obediently, Israel. Do what you’re told so that you’ll have a good life, a life of abundance and bounty, just as God promised, in a land abounding in milk and honey. Attention, Israel! God, our God! God the one and only! Love God, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that’s in you, love him with all you’ve got! Write these commandments that I’ve given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night. Tie them on your hands and foreheads as a reminder; inscribe them on the doorposts of your homes and on your city gates.

– Reflection:

Reading through this scripture this morning, I noticed that the world is saying more than we are to our children. I like to think of myself as a good father/dad whichever is to your liking. After reading this though, I feel as though I have been more worried about getting myself saved and fearful of Christ than getting my children to accept Christ as well. It is our jobs as Dads & Moms to prepare the young ones for reality and not how they feel at a particular time or another. We must do as we are told and relay what we have learned to prepare the world for others that live for Christ our Savior.

Where do we go from here?

How can we better help our legacy to honor God as we do? Think about that and do what is best for your family under the rules of the word. Because in my house we are choosing to follow Christ and not the world.

Our Prayer for Today

Father we come to you today in this divided world, and ask that you impress upon to our hearts the importance of our seeds to be able to honor you and your son Jesus Christ. May we all come together as neighbors for your Word, for one another, Amen.

Today’s Community Scripture – 5/26/2023

– Scripture:

Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God.

                     Hebrews 12:1-3 MSG

– Reflection:

                  Proving Mode

When you know you’re created in the image of God, you won’t live in a proving mode, trying to impress people, getting your value out of what they think. You don’t need their applause. To have them cheering you on is nice, but if that’s your source of worth, you’ll feel devalued when they quit doing it. You’ll have to work harder to impress them. It’s an exhausting treadmill.

Where do we go from here?

Take the pressure off. You have nothing to prove. Your job is not to win other people’s approval or applause; your job is to run the race that God has planned for you. Your value should come from who you are, not what you do and not what you have. If not, there will always be a voice saying, “You don’t measure up. You need to be stronger, skinnier, taller, wealthier, more talented, better.” No matter what you do or what you become, it’s never going to be enough. It’s very freeing when you understand that you don’t have to prove to others that you’re good enough.

Our Prayer for Today

Father, thank You that You created us in Your image and have given our lives such amazing value. Thank You that we can get off the treadmill of proving ourselves to others because we don’t have to prove anything to anyone. We’re going to run our race and live to please You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Today’s Community Scripture – 5/25/2023

Today’s Community Scripture – 5/25/2023

– Scripture:

Is there any place I can go to avoid your Spirit? to be out of your sight? If I climb to the sky, you’re there! If I go underground, you’re there! If I flew on morning’s wings to the far western horizon, You’d find me in a minute; you’re already there waiting! Then I said to myself, “Oh, he even sees me in the dark! At night I’m immersed in the light!” It’s a fact: darkness isn’t dark to you; night and day, darkness and light, they’re all the same to you.

                    Psalm 139:7–12 MSG

– Reflection:

We Cannot Hide From The Father

I love that the Psalmist says you can never fall so low or get yourself in a place where you’re beyond God’s reach, that God won’t be there to pick you up. He doesn’t hold your mistakes against you. You’re not too far off course and haven’t failed too many times. Be encouraged that wherever you are in your life, whatever you’ve done, God is right there. He’s right there with mercy, forgiveness, and hope – not with judgment or condemnation. God is there to free you from guilt and release you from condemnation. He’s breathing into your life in a new way with fresh vision and passion. New doors are about to open. What He started in your life, He’s going to finish.

Where do we go from here?

Now don’t write yourself off, and don’t write anyone else off. Don’t give up on or quit praying for your loved ones. There’s no depth to which God won’t stoop in order to free you, restore a family member, or bring your child back home.

Our Prayer for Today

Father, thank you for all your grace and mercy that help us to stay present in this reality called life. It amazes us every day that you are always there for us. Each person that has not allowed you into their hearts, I hope they allow this today. It is great knowing that there is a GOD that will go to the bottom of HELL to get me out and my mind and body safe from harm. Amen
